Hi and Welcome. The purpose of this
section of the web site is to encourage kids-teens to participate more
in line dancing and to encourage teachers to hold classes specifically
for kids and teens.
Here's a little about each section so you will know how to use it effectively:
DANCES FOR KIDS-TEENS: This is a list of dances that have proven to be
successful in classes attended by kids and teens. They have been submitted
by teachers and students as ones that are favorites in the classes. I
hope you will feel free to send us other dances that you have enjoyed
doing or would like to have taught in your classes so the instructors
will know the ones you want to do and if you could include the music you
enjoy doing them to and where other kids-teens and instructors can find
the step sheets is a great help also.
CLASSES FOR KIDS-TEENS: This section is to help promote those instructors
who hold classes primarily for kids-teens. There is a form to use at the
top of the page so that you will be able to add the class information
on this page and you can also go to the WHERE TO DANCE button and add
it again on that page. I like to help teachers who hold classes for kids-teens
promote their classes so many more young people can learn to line dance.
And how about bringing back or starting some new kids' teams!! I miss
seeing those.
FEEDBACK FROM/FOR KIDS: This is a section especially for kids who attend
classes with other kids and teachers who teach kids' classes to share
your thoughts. I do not include the e-mails of kids to protect you from
people trying to contact you so be sure and put your age so I will know
whether to add your e-mail or leave it out. I want you to be able to share
your thoughts as long as it is constructive and reasonable and I reserve
the right not to post things I think aren't appropriate. Please do not
personally attack people or classes or events because it won't be included.
Some topics you might like to share are dances you have learned and liked;
dances you would like to learn; suggestions to make your classes more
fun; things your dance teachers have done or could do to make you want
to keep coming back to class; events you have attended and your feedback
from the perspective of a young person; competition events you have attended
and how you have done and your thoughts on competition; performances or
demonstrations you have done and what it felt like to do and how was it
received by your audience; what people have encouraged you to line dance;
how you've gotten your friends to learn some dances; how you got started
line dancing and just anything that you would like to share with other
kids-teens to encourage them to keep line dancing or how to get started
in line dancing and things that teachers could do to make their classes
more attractive to your age group.
CONTACT ME: Just click on this button and you can send me an e-mail to
be included in the newsletter and/or posted on this site.
I hope you enjoy using this page and I hope, with your help and input,
you will be an inspiration to other kids-teens to get involved in this
wonderful activity that you will be able to do for many years in the future.
Let your friends know how much fun it is and if you can't convince them
to join you for classes, get a couple of them to learn a dance or two
and they will love it as much as you do!!! |
