we have a joke with my dance friends in the pittsburgh pa area about "getting our money's worth". it all started when a friend went to a workshop and paid $50 to learn one line dance because she knew all the other dances that were taught but since she really liked the dance (which we still call the $50 dance...(swing time boogie), she said "she got her money's worth". well, we have used that saying a hundred times, re: going to a dance and seeing something "funny" or "a cute guy",or whatever...
well, this past JG2 Marathon (2006)was the first time i noticed bucky. and "oh my god" was he intertaining! when i was not dancing, i was looking for bucky to see what he was up too. i cannot tell you how many times i laughed out, or how many smiles he put on my face during the week end. saturday night i turned to one of my friends and i told her "i got my money's worth". every penny that was spent that week end was worth watching bucky. he put his heart and soul into his dancing. he added his own "syncopations". he was having a blast! (and that is what it is all about!) i was so looking forward to my next accounter with bucky...... god bless you all. krissie.

We did not know Bucky well, as we've only lived here for a little over a year, but we've seen him dance a number of times at line dance events, and my first reaction was "Who is that crazy guy??" What a character when he danced. If he married Carol, who is one of the nicest, most helpful persons I have ever known, he must be a wonderful person. I know he will be sadly missed by all of us.

I only knew Carol from subscribing to the Newsletter. I have followed the blog about Bucky ever since the accident in June. Once in Carol's letter she gave a website to go to with "funniest" stuff. I saw "Bucky Kraven" there and went to the website. Saw him
dancing up a neat "storm" in a line dance. That gave me a pretty good idea of just what Bucky "was all about". Went to the site just to watch him dance everytime I read a blog on him. Prayed for him along with everyone else
Now I pray for Carol & Justin to get thru this horrible loss. I loved seeing the pic of Carol & Bucky after that. So I feel like I knew them. Godspeed to Bucky.......

I will always remember Bucky in when he danced he always took his hat off and twirled it. He was a very amazing gentleman.

One of the first memories I can remember of Bucky is when my friend, Cindy & I went to Spurs in Ybor City, FL.

We were on the dance floor doing a dance called, "Walk The Line" to Chris LeDoux's song, "Cadillac Ranch". The dance entails a few turns and is a four wall line dance (for anyone who isn't familiar with it). It can be a little intimidating for a beginner, but loads of fun for everyone else.

Anyways, we were on the floor just a dancing away when all of a sudden my friend points out this crazy guy w/ a white hat, obviously have a blast w/ the dance! We giggled and remembered him from "The American Cowboy Co.". While we were facing one wall and then switched directions, there was Bucky right in our faces startling us and of course making us laugh and smile. He was an expert at making people smile and not being so serious looking while dancing.

I think Bucky was put on this earth as an angel to make all of us who look so serious while dancing (I am guilty) to lighten up, smile and enjoy the dances more.

Hello Carol,

I cannot contribute to the "stories" being sent by those who knew Bucky. I know him only from your blog and from his picture. I missed out here on earth !
Here is something I am sending in tribute to him.
In remembrance of your husband.

Bucky and Carol had a party at there house, we were invited as being neighbors and good friends..Bucky was always doing magic tricks to entertainmy three daughters, they loved him and he always had something funny or naughty to get a rise out of them! Anyway I had a little to much to drink at the party, had to go pee and he had made the reindeer out of a log and twigs on the front lawn. Yes , so I told him I was going to pee on his deer. I remember Carol calling Bucky! Ron is peeing on our deer. So after a while they had another party that we didn"t attend, went out of town, so he had rented a port-a-potty, and when I got home he and his friends had left it on my front lawn...I couldn't for a minute or two wonder where the hell this potty came from, Then it dawned on me he got back at me for peeing on his deer.. I will miss you Mr. Bucky and so do my three daughters, Jocelyn, Bailey, and Gina you touched us all, you can't say that about everyone who passes by
us in this world!!

We don't really have a 'story' about Bucky... Sadly we didn't know him for that long. But in the time that we did know him we met one of those rare people that you take an instant liking to.. He made us smile & laugh & there was always a happy atmoshere around him.

Whenever i spoke to Carol it was Bucky, Bucky, Bucky... always good, always something nice he'd done.. the apple of her eye.. none of the usual talk you get of trading him in for a new one that you get when a couple have been together so long.. He made Carol happy too.. A fun happy man who spread smiles wherever he went.
We'll miss you Bucky.
Nev & Julie
