NAME: Lindy
We were at an event a few years ago (I think it was Boogie Woogie
in Ft. Lauderdale) and they were having a contest for choreography
on the spot. When they made the teams, Bucky and I were on the same
team. When we were trying to work out some moves, he grabbed my hand
and pulled it down to grab the fanny of the 'pro choreographer' assigned
to our group and then stood back pointing and laughing, making everyone
think I had grabbed his butt on my own!!!!!!! :-) |

NAME: Sandy Burbage
I always laughed about the crazy way he was always putting his hat
on sideways and turning his head to get in to it. Dance Floor won't
be the same without his smile and crazy things he did. He will be
missed by all.

In 2000, my girlfriends and I decided to go to the Line Dance Marathon.
This was our first one and we were so excited and also overwhelmed!
We had been taking workshops all weekend and thought that there was
not possibly one thing more that would fit into our memory banks.
That Saturday night at the dance party, we saw you and Bucky and we
learned one more dance move that we still laugh about and simulate
to this day. He was dancing behind you, Carol, and took his cowboy
hat off and started, as we call it, "fanning his crotch".
We still laugh about that and every now and then, one of us will stick
it in a dance somewhere and we all start laughing! |

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. |

NAME: David E Preble
July 4th weekend in Vermont is pretty quiet(dull). There isn't much
to do, except in a small redneck town on the side of a mountain called
"Bristol". They have the biggest parade in Vermont, but
before that is the ever popular "outhouse race". Well, the
night before Bucky, Carol and neighbor/friend David were bored so
we went to the local pub for a few brews. After a few, David suggested
he had heard Willard Scott was going to be in Bristol covering the
outhouse race! So, Bucky, Carol and David piled in a vehicle and drove
12 miles to Bristol looking for Willard. They started at the only
bar in town (No Knees), had a couple of brews and were told outright
that Willard had not been there, so they then went over ot the American
Legion. After obtaining a round of drinks, Bucky went to the mens
room, on his return he passed four men playing pool. They were quite
serious had a stash of money on the table and were down to about six
balls...........upon which Bucky picked them up and started to juggle!!!
Needless to say, Bucky, Carol and David left Bristol without seeing
Willard! |

When I first met Bucky at semimars I thought "What an odd little
fellow, always fooling around" then after going to these seminars
for years got the point that would specifically look for him and watch
some of the "antics" but still hit the beat and the correct
wall of the dances. Always the smile, always the "free spirit".
Seemed like he just enjoyed life. |

Bucky and Carol Craven would occasionally come to the old Buck Wild
Night Club in Lakeland Fl U.S.A. with a road trip of other fun dancers
from the Tampa/St.Pete area and dance the night away....
On one occasion in particular, one of my dancers who did not know
Bucky saw him doing his usual antics while dancing to one of the songs
and she came over to me with a real worried look on her face and asked
what that man was doing out there on the dance floor..... I asked
her to watch his footwork and tell me if he was out of step with the
other dancers ..... She looked for a little while and then exclaimed,
" Oh my gosh " he is really in step with all of the other
dancers...I laughed and told her she was right, and that that man
was a very clever dancer with a very clever mind and certainly added
a different dimension to the dance floor !!!!!!
I will always remeber him for that and will always treasure that memory
of him.....

It was always very entertaining watching Stacy's reaction to one of
Bucky's antics as they danced side by side so often. He would always
make her smile or "crack up", and then she would "return
the favor" by doing something funny of her own. They had a great
rapport on the dance floor and realated so well while dancing. So
whenever I see Stacy dancing I will always think of Bucky being there
in spirit next to her. I am sure Stacy will always feel Bucky's lively
spirit beside her.
